The first rule of knife fighting is to assume the proper stance. At which point your oppoent will either back down, or assume a similar stance. If it's the latter, you will both be getting cut, and it's only a matter of how dedicated you both are to the fight. I've seen more than one street encouter end when all involved pulled knives, and everyone decided it was worth being somewhere else. Jay
