My current dentist is male though. And I'm not changing dentists ever again (well, until he retires anyway) because this is the first time I've like my dentist and he seems to have done a good job on my teeth for several years now. As for male dental assistants, I had one once, but you're right it's very rare. I think it's not see as a very macho job.
