I just got an odd email message. by rorajoey2006-09-08 05:33:52
Many languages use $ for variables names by imrambi2006-09-08 05:51:21
I know that Perl uses $ as a prefix for scalars, by rorajoey 2006-09-08 05:58:37
and some forms of BASIC use $ as a prefix to indicate string variables, but I'm curious about this $variablename$ syntax. It looks similar to the %variablename% syntax used by MS DOS/Windows. Maybe that was the mistake--using $ instead of %. Anyway, it's no skin off my nose; I can just point, laugh, and hit "delete". :)
