GRUB goof by UGuardian 2006-09-08 05:32:06
I went to boot the Linux partition and was greeted with the following message:

"ERROR 16: Inconsistent file system structure"

And then was returned to GRUB rather than having the Linux partition boot. WinXP boots just fine however.

I rebooted into a LiveCD to take a look at the Linux partition, and it mounted, displayed in Konqueror and unmounted just fine. I didn't run fsck or anything, I just mounted, viewed and unmounted the partition.

Upon rebooting back to GRUB I tried booting the Linux install again. It booted up fine, no errors at all.

What made GRUB choke like that? Botched load of GRUB or some obscure bug/glitch when I last shutdown Linux?
