I have a 2 GB log file by Diorama2006-09-08 03:42:52
  Dr Watson is infamous for its huge logs by WolfenOne2006-09-08 03:44:49
    Read it? by Diorama2006-09-08 03:48:29
      Nah, only the interesting bits of course by SciSSorS 2006-09-08 05:23:11
but to find those in over two billion bits ...

Did you try

"cmd" "type Drwtsn32.log" | grep "oddbits" ?

Oh, and if you're on an "original WinNT" system, the 2Gb filesize limit may be a little problem too.

Instead of the cmd type ... grep , you can, of course, try opening it in vi ,
On windows: vim or gvim (the dot_org will find you a win-version , it's a win-vim situation)

          Windows "grep" == "find" by ChuckAB2006-09-08 06:18:50
            Unless you're really searching for a regex. by bwkaz2006-09-08 16:18:01
