that is some good examples of weirdage by magixtechnica 2006-09-08 02:10:15
allright.

I know when I went to 10.4 on the G4, it didn't like the DVD and I thought I was going to have to do the "Media Exchange" thing and get CD's. I troubleshot all to H4 and came up with nothing. Finally as a last resort (I had already tried this once) I put my audio CD cleaner w/ fluid on the brush, stuck it in iTunes and looped playback for about a half hour. Afterward, it liked the DVD just fine. 8-)

The sound thing is just weird. That sounds like a hardware thing that maybe 9 compensated for and X didn't? I'll think more on that one later.

The PCI video probably needs more specific drivers for the exact model G3 you have. Yeah, that's a royal pain, but they likely exist SOMEWHERE, even if it's some kid in a garage that wrote the driver.

Did you try swapping the sticks to see if the 128 followed the same stick from slot to slot? If so, maybe issues in the stick, if not, maybe issues in the slot.

Hard drive weirdness, I have noticed in X that I have a lot more control over my devices, and can recognize a lot more HD's and filesystems. I can no longer read/write a Windows floppy without 3rd party software (like I could from the OS before) but overall I am much happier with the way things are done now.
