I mean, if team A performs in an outstanding fashion, while team B blows; that is incentive (competition) for team B to step up. If instead, as soon as team A does good, they get split up between teams B and C, well, that is a DIS-incendive towards performance.
The people who devised this system never learned much about people management and leadership have they? My tactic would be to augment the competitive incentive. Start a small bonus program for teams that outperform, and keep teams together. Maybe the bonus is nothing more than a weekly fancy lunch, it's just enough to augment the competitiveness between teams to outperform. |
