You see, it has always been a weird idea of mine to have one box that can run...well...any software written in the world. I was once going to do it with a G3 and an Orange Micro PC card, but OM went belly up. With a Mac Pro, I can set up quad-boot and choose MacOS, Linux, Windoze, or FreeBSD/Darwin right from powerup. Or run all 4...or maybe 10...OS's in Parallels.
With such a box, there would not exist on the planet a piece of (standard) software that I could not run. Excepting of course application-specific things running maybe embedded machines or some such...but then I could always emulate the OE for those. |
