When I plugged in my Computer at the studentsdorm, I caught a virus after 3 minutes (okay it's also my fault, I shoul've updated at home - before I went there). I installed SuSE 6.3 some years before- but at this time I didn't know what to do with it. Now I had a brand new Red Hat somewhat DVD which came with a magazine. I installed Red Hat - the I tried to get the newest version of xine and some multmedia packages running. Since I was new to RedHat I didn't know that there is something like yum or apt for rh ... the manual dependency downloading got over my head- at the end I did not know what I wanted to install. So i downloaded a live CD - no not knoppix, morphix (I don't know where I got it from)- and banned it to the hard disc. Then over some month it grew into a debian sid. And after a reinstall I'm the lucky owner of a debian sid system- hurray for linux - hurray for everything.
