3Com gear is cheap. And it's crap. One MAC table across a manageable switch == bad. Routing based on L1 status? Bad. (L3) Routing base on L2 addressing? Bad. The fact that it can't automatically relearn a MAC on a 'routed' port - bad. Store & Forward? That's so 80s. I'd take almost anything over a 3Com. Cisco, Foundry, Juniper and Extreme being the cream of the crop. Even the Cisco-Linksys offerings (ie: consumer/prosumer) can be MUCH better than the enterprise 3Com gear...
