I agree it's a transition problem (and with us moving to a new house in 3 months, I'll probably be faced with a similar issue - Nika has only lived in this house since we rescued her from the animal shelter. I still don't know how she's going to handle the transition yet.) But it's always a good idea to rule out any physical problems before treating a particular issue as a behavioral problem.
I had a cat a long time ago that just stopped eating, and I didn't realize until after I took her to the vet that she was just freaking out over a new kitten in the house (this is what happens when you're a new at having pets and there is no internet to turn to for advice). After another couple of weeks, she was mostly back to normal (she never bonded with the kitten enough to sleep in a pile with her, but she tolerated the new addition well enough later on). |
