Some Linux network config help needed by Control2006-09-07 02:00:50
Here it comes (most of it) by leonidus2006-09-07 02:08:33
    Thanks, that's a great start by Control 2006-09-07 02:24:25
Come to think of it, if I intend to run a script for set up at home, I might as well scratch the dhcp and give it the correct IP right away.
As for the nameservers, I think I'll have to files, resolve_home.conf and resolve_work.conf, and just copy the correct one to resolve.conf

All that remains is the thing with the proxies. In YaST, it remembers the systemwide proxies I entered, and there's a checkbox where I can just turn use of proxies in general on and off. But it's four or five clicks deep, and YaST always takes ages to start.
While we're at it, I wonder which config file I'd have to edit to set opera to use (or not use) proxies the next time it starts.
