Some Linux network config help needed by Control2006-09-07 02:00:50
Here it comes (most of it) by leonidus 2006-09-07 02:08:33
Setting a static IP address, you're right:
ifconfig eth0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx up
Gateway is different though:
route add default gw xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
You cat write something like this to set up your nameservers:
echo "nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" > /etc/resolv.conf
Now the parts I'm not familiar with. You probably get DHCP running by using:
dhcpcd eth0
Don't blame me, if that last one doesn't work. For the proxys I have no idea for system wide proxies. You could probably just use two different profiles for your browser where you enter the proxies.
