Stupid HTPC is giving me no end of trouble... just when I thought I got it working the video card dies on me. It "works" for a little bit (bios, xp loading screen) but the moment it goes to switch video modes the screen blanks (when windows goes to start, the acronis bootloder cd)
not to mention during the multiple reboots that it took for me to diagnose the thing the text loader screen of the Ultimate Boot CD for windows was garbled once.
might have to drag it over to a monitor to see if the (DVI/VGA) port does the same as the s-video does.
bother... this spells the doom of the project as the card that died was both the video card and the capture device. (it's a all in wonder 8500DV made by ATI themselves, pieces of junk, those.) |
