What's the point of using CVS if you're not going by merlin 2006-08-08 14:52:03
to check stuff back in!?!?!?!?!?!?!

*graaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar*

So, I get to redo about 5 hours worth of work, but hopefully it won't take as long to redo it all.

A previous developer made a bunch of changes to a web app when it was moved from one cluster to another. He apparently neglected to check all of these changes back into CVS when he was done.

I had to make some changes to the self-same web app, so naturally I check all of the code out of CVS first to make sure I have the most recent version. I get all my changes made and then roll it out to the Test environment. Just found out it is failing miserably.

After investigation, I determined that the "new" code done by the previous developer was never checked in. I now have to grab all of the files from Production and burp them up into CVS as the current build. Then, I have to make all of my changes again.

I. AM. NOT. HAPPY!!!!!!!!!

As a side note, it's a good thing he's not around any more or I might be tempted to do something very un-Christ-like.
