I believe I have done more accidental damage to myself when in an angered state of mind than all of the rest of my mishaps (and there are quite a few) put together.

Don't worry; time has a way of taming us down. In the meantime, though, may I suggest pillows as targets? Perhaps they are not so satisfyingly brittle as a pane of glass, but they do have the advantage of allowing one to punch more than once in case the first expulsion of rage doesn't quite do the trick.
