"Thin steel cables tether the bed in place"? by Khaar 2006-08-08 08:59:45
Couldn't that be done some other way as well? ¤1.2M seems way too much for just a bunch of magnets and a rack. It should be possible to maintain the bed in place with a few additional electromagnets controled by a computer reading the position of the bed. With *that* price tag, this should come as standard equipment, not the "thin steel cables" ruining the illusion.

Yes, I do have a problem with designers charging what they do while ignoring the details or practicality.

"'It is not comfortable at the moment,' admits Ruijssenaars, adding it needs cushions and bedclothes before use." So it's a floating block of whatever for ¤1.2M and calling it a bed is just a marketing trick?

Booo!
