| and wishes for your parents to decide not to pick on anything this visit. Sometimes, parents can surprise you by their unexpected compassion. Sometimes, they will act exactly as you expect.
Maybe if you expect them to be supportive of whatever you are doing, they'll do that?
And remind them that creative projects (such as art and music) are what is keeping you sane and "focused on your 'real' work" (the phrase in quotes is for you to use if you need to - will help remind parents that you ARE doing what they expect of you).
