        "ausgestellt" is the contrary to "eingestellt" by UnFair 2006-08-08 05:36:23
to become hired - eingestellt werden
to become unhired - ausgestellt werden

Ausstellen has a more common meaning (to be switched off) and also the one you mentioned (to put on display).

It is a little euphemistic the way I'm using it here but that is probably the reason why indeed employers are using it too - some even say "freistellen" which kind of gives the impression of being released from slavery.
