If people do bad things, they do it - not some book. If you are so easily influenced that a book will make you do something wrong, then there is something wrong with you. And as you said, even if you consider books harmful, their choices were atrocious - while I think you could make a case against things like Mein Kampf, and any of the communism books (just because they did help let the dictators of the soviet union and china come to power) I fail to see what is wrong with any of the others that I've heard of. Putting Darwin as an honorable mention, not to mention Silent Spring (just how could that be harmful?) destroys any credibility it might have.
