I need an Orbital LART, or a hug... by shadowsystems2006-08-06 02:47:08

    I've already tried that... =) by shadowsystems 2006-08-06 19:22:50
Most of the people I help, though, are already poor.
My normal rates are "A six-pack of Diet Pepsi & what-ever you think my time was worth." =)
I try to teach them how to fix their own computers while I'm fixing it.
Failing that, I try to teach them what NOT to do to keep it from breaking that way again in the future.
If it's a simple fix that doesn't take more than, say, an hour, I'll do it for the six pack of soda.
If it takes a few hours, then yes, I expect to be paid based on the length of time I took to help get you out of your predicament.

Normally, I also take payments in installments.
They tend to say things like:
"Thanks for the awesome job. All I have is $20 on me now, but I get paid next friday & will give you the rest then if that's ok?"
:to which I reply "SWEEET!" =)P
