SMS isn't even included in some subscription plans, as I know for one that has 25 "calling minutes" included, but no S-MS.
( I think it's gotten normal to charge for anything named "MS" )
Our "calling time" is in seconds, from communication-start to communication-end. If the called party doesn't pick up (not even voicemail), I pay 0. If they pick up, I pay "the connection fee + the seconds" (advertised as eurocents-per-minute)
Same thing works today for fixed-line calls: the connection cost makes every call more expensive. But the phone company told us "if you reach an answering machine, then leave a message. If you connect for less than 30 secs, you won't benefit from our cheaper price-per minute as the cc eats it all"
Now I'd have to calculate: is the first 30secs included in the connection cost, or is it marketing speak to bill longer calls ? |
