You're going away from your desk briefly, but you know someone who isn't currently available is going to want to chat with you at some point soon. So you leave them a message of "prank me when you want to chat" so that they'll call you (assuming you'll be keeping your phone on you) to signal that they're online and want to chat.

Basically, I'm talking about using caller ID from one cell to another as a way to signal something, but without actually incurring call charges for a 10 second "come chat with me" call.
