Don't NEED to make it go much faster... by shadowsystems 2006-08-06 04:25:16
I've already had mine clocked at nearly 50MPH (flat-spin, vertical-orientation, switching in a "figure-eight" across the front of the body) and can make a watermellon *explode* with a *wooden* QuarterStaff. (At that speed, the QS will actually *hum* as it passes your face. It's QUITE unnerving! heheh)

I wanted to put metal caps on my QS & do the test again, but they said "YOU, Sir, are NOT allowed to equip them that way at ANY SCA event WE officiate at. That sucker's LETHAL."
Oh FINE, BE that way! hehehehe

So, give me an all-metal QS, and I'll get it up to at LEAST 40MPH and you can kiss those bones *goodbye*.

(Evil, merry grin)

I might get the C-F one going faster, but unless it were a solid cylinder, I'd probably end up wrapping a hollow-tube-one around someone like a freakin bendy straw on crack.

(Laughing)
