I think part of the blame also belongs on the parents, who don't spend enough time with their kids because they are too busy persuing their careers, and so they overcompensate by throwing excessive amounts of money at the little blighters as a substitute for love. The kids grow up, complain to their therapists that "Mom and dad didn't love me enough," then REPEAT THE SAME MISTAKES THAT THEIR PARENTS MADE. I mean, how else are they going to pay for that 3 story house and the Hummer, and the big screen TV, and entertainment center, and all of the other stuff that they "deserve?" They've got to work 18 hours a day to be successful.
"The best education money can buy" has been replaced by "The best GRADES that money can buy." And to think, these rich people are the ones running our country. |
