were like me or my mom, or the Germans. The world is a heartless and cruel and not very fair place. Learning that early is a good thing as far as I am concerned. as far as your kids a Loud NO a stern look and a swat on the bottom works. Lesser problems a stern look preceded by a quieter no usually works because they are expecting that swat after the first too. Pavlovian response. Of Course there is my dads way of discipline Example copper nail that I found on the floor of the work shop. electrical outlet on the walll. Nail goes in the wall. Zap goes the electricity. Dad checks first to see that I am ok still breathing and all that no burn marks ect. Then when I am finished crying (Dad) "Did you learn anything from that." (Me) Nods head Yes. (Dad) Good. Now are you going to do it again? (Me) No! (emphaticly shakeing my head) Procedes to hug me and then takes apart the elecrical socket to show me how it works and explains it and what I did wrong. 4 year old learns a valuable science lesson.
