but I disagree with the comment you made about public education.
I made it through, but when I failed, it was made clear to me. Usually they'd explain where I went wrong, too. One of my favourite teachers was a hard man who'd spent most of his life in the army (was a Major before he retired) and then decided he wanted to pass on his knowledge. Lots of the students hated him, but he was always good to me and NemoHac.
It's probably different in Canada than here in Aus, though.
I quite thoroughly dislike the kids I'm seeing around these days. Majority of them are spoiled brats (including my own cousins who don't visit my grandmother, even though they live in the same city). Over here, spankings are being frowned on, and I can't stand it. I was spanked as a kid, and I think I turned out the better for it. These kids need a good wallop across the rear end. |
