Fairness is crucial, but so is firmness. Kids need to experience failure and they sure as heck need to be told "NO" in no uncertain terms many times as they grow up.
I suppose the usage of the word "hardarse" might've set off your alarms, but I did think it was clear that I used it satirically. After all, in this day and age of "junior can do no wrong and can't fail, he can only be 'success deferred'" anyone who tells a child they were bad is considered a "hardarse." |
