Of course, they would tend to ring my home number in the late afternoon whilst I wasn't at home (I lived alone). It was only when I had some time off that I got to answer some of these calls in person and inform the luckless caller that whoever they were looking for hasn't had this number for 2 years! He was very embarrassed: the calls stopped after that.
