I just ran through the calculations from scratch by AndyA 2006-07-26 16:57:52
I ended up with 12hours, 26.3 minutes

The 12 hours 24 I got directly from wikipedia.

Since there are around 740 minutes to the period a 2 minute error represents a 1 degree shift in the pattern. So as long as we keep the number of cycles that are averaged to a shift of less than 90 degrees then the pattern should still show up but to a reduced extent. Once I've got a bit more data to crunch I'll try shifting the period a little and see if it makes any difference, right now at a shift of under 10 degrees worst case I don't think it would have much impact.

I've kept the raw data if you want a copy.
