    Ours isn't that much. Huh. (n/t) by farfalla2006-07-26 13:49:16
It is the city you live in by Ishta 2006-07-26 14:00:05
Size of unit, how many units are connected to it, proximity to fire departments and hydrants. I don't smoke, have a smoke detector and a fire extinguisher, I live near two hydrants and a fire department. I have no past claims though my prior coverage was through the landlords plan. But I had seperate coverage at places I was in before that. London Drugs is the one that charges over $560 for one year of coverage. Johnston Myer charged $270 but that doesn't include earthquake protection. Deductables in all cases is $1000 and coverage $10,000 for contents for fire, water, and theft. After two years if no claim is filed the deductable falls to $500. Only people over age fourty get the age discount of I think 5-10%. I don't know the specific break for non smokers but there is a discount.

Insurance agencies that were contacted were: Johnston Myer, WestCo, London Drugs, and Sharpe. Canadian Direct refused to give me a quote by e-mail. Which I disliked so wouldn't phone them as I knew they would try to pressure me into buying from them.
