At church, we have taught our kids to refer	by merlin	2006-07-26 09:49:47
to their teachers and what-not as Mr.\|Mrs. [firstname]. If another adult is a close family friend, they may also address them as such. Otherwise, it's Mr.\|Mrs. [lastname], until such point as that adult tells our children they may use their first name. It's more formal, yes, but it's also more polite in my opinion. -- merlin
