informal poll: do kids call you by your last name? by SnappingTurtle 2006-07-26 09:35:29
When I was a kid it was assumed that I and others my age called adults Mr.|Mrs.|Ms. [last name]. Alternately, aunts and uncles were called Aunt|Uncle [first name]. But even as a kid there were a few exceptions. When my aunt (a baby boomer) met her future husband he had us kids call him "Terry" instead of Mr. [last name]. I thought that was pretty cool. I didn't know it was the future.

Today, no kid... in fact, nobody at all... calls me Mr. [last name]. All the kids at church, the kids on the mission trip, my nieces and nephews, they all call me "Miko". I much prefer it that way.

Do any kids or anybody at all address you by your last name of with any type of title (Mr.|Mrs.|Ms.|Aunt|Uncle)?
