I mean, come on! We have here the Israeli army, about four or five times larger, better trained, and better equipped than any other army in the area. (Similar to the military overkill in the US, but that's a different story).
Do you seriously expect anybody sane to raise a formal army, train and equip it, and send it on an attack mission? When there are alternatives available? That's not the kind of suicide mission that gets any kind of support from Muslim leaders, I'm sure.
If it were that easy, there would be no more struggle in the Middle East. The biggest army wins, end of story. But that was what won the second World War. And being stuck in the tactics that worked over fifty years ago doesn't mean that you can demand that everybody else wants to be stuck there with you. Obviously.
Please stop complaining about the enemies of Israel (and the US) 'not fighting fair'. It doesn't make you look like you know anything about modern warfare.
And it doesn't excuse atrocities by the Israeli army, either. "They don't fight fair" has never been a good reason to abandon consideration for innocent civilians.
If you want something to complain about, try complaining about the "Might Makes Right" attitude that has led to this gross escalation. It is IMO a major factor in making the Middle East a worse place to be. |
