It is entirely possible that the laws of Physics are not immutable, except in the linear approximation, when our effect on the Universe is negligible. I suspect that if one has enough knowledge/power/skill to affect events on a cosmic scale, no physical laws or constants are sacred. In essence, one becomes God to the lesser beings. As I keep saying, the Universe may well be a product of a failed Grade 3 science project... of some rather advanced civilization.
