AFAICT this law enables police to classify by Peace_man 2006-07-12 11:29:16
a shooting as self-defense, given a certain set of circumstances. Where before it had to be investigated as a possible murder.

It simply makes it easier to use self-defense as a legitimate reason to kill someone. And reduces the number of possible homicides that the police report. Which is why I said it is pretty much guaranteed to reduce the number of reported crime.

The fact that you immediately classify it as 'isn't crime' is why I don't like it. Any loss of life should be investigated thoroughly with the thought in mind that it could have been premeditated, or that it could have been prevented.
