In my dad's research into our family tree, he found an ancestor who had been tried as a witch, and it was the same year she died. The record doesn't say why she died, but I think you can safely conclude that's why she died, since as far as I know nobody was ever aquitted at witch trial. Frankly, I couldn't care less if she was exonerated.
