Liberals (most that I know) would LOVE to...

Restrict ownership of personal firearms,
Restrict, through tax laws, how much money they think is fair for you to earn,
Restrict the kind of vehicle you can drive (the environment, doncha know...)
Restrict when and where you can express an opinion about, say, birth control/abortion, religion, patriotism, etc.,
Restrict, again through tax laws, foods they feel aren't good for you (fast food),
Restrict (tax) anything they feel isn't correct or right for someone to have/want/need/etc.

...Yes, I know full well that this list (save firearms) could go either way (liberal or "Conservative"). Conservatives, in the classical (IMHO) Reagan-esque -and-older mode, are less apt to want to impose restrictions on life as neo-Cons are, but nonetheless...

This is why I hate both sides nearly equally, and consider myself more of a Laissez-faire capitalist and freedom-loving egoist, than aligning myself with any given party. However, the shape the world's in today (post 9/11), I'd much rather have a pragmatic hawk than an idealistic dove in power.
