Israel has blocked a lot of supplies getting to the West Bank as a form of coercian.
They've also co-opted a LOT of the media. Consider why the Jewish Settlements in Gaza are referred to as "neighbourhoods" of Jerusalem, when they're semi-distance and in another country (the borders as defined by the UN, not by Palestine). Also consider the last time you saw the those settlements referred to as an "occupation of foreign land". Also, look at the *location* of the settlement: Most are on top of hills, and located in the areas of the best water and land. The checkpoints you hear about being problematic are those *inside* Palestine -- We condemn the US for doing this in Iraq, but we support Israel doing this in Palestine.
*Neither* side, Israel or Palestine, has a moral upperhand on this. But Israel's spent a LOT of money to get THEIR view of what's going on to be the predominant view. Go check out which are the most powerful lobbiest groups in DC.
I don't particularly think there's any sort of a "Jewish conspiracy" going on, but I do think people are dismally unaware of what's *actually* going on between Israel and Palestine.
