That is one thing I've found somewhat refreshing about UF, as opposed to the vast majority of webcomics, is that Illiad tends not to use it as a political soapbox most of the time. When there is a commentary on current events, it is usually either something everyone can find common ground in, or something of technical, rather than political, interest.
I know a lot of webcomic authors that have either stopped being good, or just never were good, because they made everything a thinly veiled political statement. This goes for all comics, I guess. (I'm looking at you Jon Stewart!)
Now on the boards, thats a different matter, but the comic is pretty good about it. More or less :)
A while ago I seem to remember Darlington from GPF getting the same trouble from the other side, complaining about his use of Christian themes in a story arc he did. |
