When upgrading GCC, should one redo the kernel.. by romandas2006-07-03 11:05:20
  I don't do either by imrambi2006-07-03 11:08:47
Well, at this point I can't ignore it by romandas2006-07-03 11:13:13
gcc first by Freakazoid 2006-07-03 11:43:09
then do this before doing the kernel:
gcc-update 1 (hmm.. it appears things have changed now, it appears to be gcc-config now) basically run a gcc-config -l then gcc-config <number> for the version you want to run
fix_libtool_files.sh <old version> (example: 3.3.4)

after that you might want to run revdep-rebuild just in case to see if anything's broken (assuming the rest of the system is up to date)
then you can do the kernel and reboot.

you only really have to worry about doing that with major gcc version updates (like 3.3 to 3.4 like you're going)
