When upgrading GCC, should one redo the kernel.. by romandas2006-07-03 11:05:20
  I don't do either by imrambi2006-07-03 11:08:47
Well, at this point I can't ignore it by romandas 2006-07-03 11:13:13
Using gcc-config -l I am still running 3.3.6, and the current version 'installed' is 3.4.6. Apparently just because you emerge it doesn't mean it gets used.
Ergo, if you want to use it (and I do, because without it I can't upgrade another package that I want upgraded) you have to redo world. That being said, apparently whatever gcc you're using should match what the kernel was compiled with, so now I'm to the question, chicken or the egg?
