Linux with sound working out of the box? by carthax2006-07-03 10:19:58
Ubuntu Dapper by Medievalist 2006-07-03 10:59:26
I'm actually more of an .RPM guy, so it's weird to be recommending a deb distro.

But the new Ubuntu installed flawlessly on my brand-spanky-new ultralight as well as my old microns. Load it and go, all sound working right away. When I used Breezy on the same systems it took a lot of tweaking to get sound working on the new machine.

Incidentally, I think ubuntu is an ALSA distro not OSS.

Good luck!
