So do people actually click on spam? by Ravenlock2006-11-19 12:55:59
  Sometimes.... by azander 2006-07-03 09:00:00
As a Server Admin for a medium sized ISP, I sometimes go spammer hunting. When I do, I forward the spam to a special mailbox, download them to a sandbox VM, and click them in the secure sandbox. While the sandboxed VM might get infected with something, it doesn't matter to me, it gets wiped clean when I log out.

As for actualy buying... NEVER. The only time I click is when I'm hunting spammer. I may up the odds of 'click throughs' but never for purchasing. While I've been doing this, I have noticed that about 2% of those I report disappear from the ISPs that I report them to, and the other 98% tend to get their ISPs blocked withing 6 months, and when I mean blocked, I mean blocked. they can't get past our border router on any port.
