freedb.org is going to shut down soon - the dev's couldn't work together. Apparently two of them wanted to expand services but that wouldn't allow it to remain free, and the third one (who owned the domain) forbade it, so they quit. This guy tried to prevent freedb from becoming a pay-for-use service. Is anyone willing to continue with freedb? There is a guy who has the database and has opened freedb2.org - dunno if it's the same and dunno what the status is.
