I'll try to be calm and clear here.
Everbody who has added an opinion has tried to show repect to you and explain what their interpretation is. They have tried to explain how they derived that interpretation and tried to clearly define what they mean. We have tried to find alternative ways to explain things if you did not seem to understand and tried to ignore an attitude that quickly comes off as offensive.
Each of us has accepted the role of clarifying our intent and meaning when it has seemed to be necessary.
Yet you continue to insist that if we do not understand what you are saying then it is our fault because we apparently do not have the grasp of English that you do. I personally find that highly offensive for two reasons.
- While I have only average intelligence I try my utmost to think things through and be fair in my dealings with others. I don't always suceed and extend apologies if I have not in this instance.
- My mother is an english teacher and I am reasonable well read. I have a much wider vocabulary than many of my professionial peers. As such I understand how every word carries multiple interpretations and meanings - it is my responsibility to use correct context and wording to convey the intended meaning. In addition, each region has different language usages. I would not go as far as to say that there are dialects of English but a similar effect is there.
Finally... JD has done nothing but try to diffuse a very touchy issue here. He has reprimanded, explicitally and implied, most who contributed to it's blow-up. In his continuing discussion with you I have watched a trend of him trying to reason with you and reduce personal hurt to yourself. All you have done is maintain a hard line as he attempted compromise and reason.
