Whee, you know you haven't updated your system by Freakazoid 2006-06-22 17:31:47
in a while when you power it on and it's running kernel 2.6.15.1 and that was only a couple versions old when it was installed.
granted this is for my vmware instillation of gentoo on the main system. Generally gets used when I want to experiment with something i'm not sure about. Doesnt' get used that often, but it only uses about 1.15Gig of disk space so I keep it around. (gotta love ntfs compression, uncompresssed it would be 3.11Gig)

whee! results of a "emerge -up world | wc -l" comes out to be 31, so subtracting 4 for the overhead that leaves 27 packages, one of which being xorg. This'll take a few hours.

well, time to fire off the massive compile then go play The Bard's Tale some. (playing through it for a second time so I can capture all of the in game songs :) )
