get that AC down... Use your pet, or altars, to test all the iron hats and shoes you find. Get the first mythril armor you find, check it out, and put it on. Fight enough dwarves and you should find some. Failing that, orcish chain mail is usually available in the mines. If your AC is not low, your HP will go down really fast, which means even having a bunch of it is no protection from fast monsters with powerful attacks.
