is that he had extremely poor accounting of such things, and a lot of what he was told by his own advisors was untrue. As far as he knew, they may have all been destroyed.

Once again I make the point that I believe Saddam deserved to be taken out. But the crap about Saddam being able to attack the US should not have been part of the rationale for attacking Iraq. And even if there WAS enough rationale to attack Iraq without those claims, the US has done a p4-poor job of it.
