From my house I can see 5 other wireless networks. 2 have no encryption and default SSIDs and probably still have the defualt passwords on the router. 2 others have WEP. One other has WPA. They all broadcast the SSID. In that enviroment no one is going to try getting into my LAN unless they know what they are doing and there is something specific that they want. Script kiddies will go for the soft targets.
